“People will stare, make it worth their while”

For several years I worked closely with The Butler’s Pantry, having responsibility for their store window displays. I developed seasonal themes and planned how they could translate across the very different store sizes and venues to maximise visibility, visual appeal and brand promotion. I use visual storyboards to help show ideas and get valuable feedback on the direction any project should go.
This extended to prop sourcing, photography styling, and at times making a full suite of bespoke promotional material, liaising with chefs, bakers, print companies and photographers.
In visual merchandising I previously worked with Sherry Furniture, a family business in County Monaghan. The company had a number of brochures capturing different ranges of their products, from contemporary to more traditional. I was tasked with bringing a fresh lifestyle approach to how they presented their furniture, creating room sets that were believable and allowed the customer really get a feel for the furniture in their own home. This involved sourcing fabrics, wallpapers and props to bring a sense of being lived in. I worked closely with a photographer to capture the room sets and textural details, ensuring all aspects of the furniture was represented, before translating these into detailed brochures for each of the ranges.
